English literacy programme for street children: The Oxford Academy intends to bring excellent British Teaching standards to everyone in Pakistan, as part of our Teach Me Too Initiative, we are offering poverty stricken street children the opportunity to learn to read and write English, for free 😊

Our Teachers 👩‍🏫

All our phonics teachers are fluent in English and undergo one year of teacher training to ensure excellent teaching practices 🙌 we believe everyone deserves an excellent education including underprivileged children, they are the future of Pakistan 🇵🇰

Our programme 📚

We follow Ruth Miskin's Read Write Inc literacy programme and a few other programmes.

Why? Because these are the most widely used programmes in schools in England and are proven to produce excellent results.

Who can volunteer? 🤲

If you are resident in Islamabad and have a free fixed slot(s) per week in the evenings, or if you are not resident in Pakistan but visit over the summer holidays for at least one month, and you would like to volunteer at The Oxford Academy's Street Children Literacy Programme, contact us!

You will receive training in phonics, language development, and teaching pedagogy online with our teacher trainer Sara Edris, she's a graduate from Oxford University.

Once she feels you are ready to teach, we will allocate children to you 🤲🏾
